No such thing as a sound partition. You need to install the drivers.
go to control panel and click on sound settings and click on sound and audio devices and then then click on audio and then there will be a section called the default device click and choose the one that you are suppose to be connected to then click on advanced then raise up the volume
You should download and install Driver Checker, it can help you out of this trouble
